Overcoming Challenges: Writing with Feet and Continuing Education
Overcoming Challenges: Writing with Feet and Continuing Education
A Life Overcoming Adversity I am Satish Sangawat, son of Bhanwara Ram Dewasi, and I come from the small village of Kelawa Kalla in the Baori Tehsil of Jodhpur. My educational journey has been marked by immense challenges, both personal and academic. I lost both my hands in an accident when I was just in Class 4. Despite this life-changing tragedy, I refused to let my disability stop me from pursuing my education and building a meaningful career. Today, I look back at my journey with gratitude and pride, for I have achieved success not only in academics but also in professional life, all while overcoming challenges that most people would have found insurmountable. The Tragic Accident and My Determination The turning point in my life came when I was just 9 years old, studying in Class 4. I lost both my hands in a tragic electricity accident. It was an overwhelming shock, and the physical pain was just the beginning. The mental and emotional challenges that followed were equally tough. The loss of my hands meant I had to find new ways to do even the simplest of tasks. However, I never let my disability define me. With immense determination and the unwavering support of my family, I continued my education. I began writing with my feeta skill I learned to perfect over time. Though it was difficult and slow at first, I never gave up. I knew that education was the key to a better future, and I was determined to continue my studies, no matter the odds. Educational Pursuits Despite Challenges My academic journey began in Government School, Raiko ki Basni, Baori, where I completed my primary schooling. Moving forward, I continued my education at SKSN Manaklao, a school where I completed my 5th to 10th grade. Despite the challenges I faced, I managed to maintain my academic performance. After completing my secondary school education, I switched to Government School, Baori for my 11th grade, and later finished my 12th grade at Sumer School in Jodhpur. Throughout this time, I had to overcome many difficulties related to writing exams and assignments, but my determination kept me going. After completing my 12th grade, I decided to pursue B.Com in Accounting Honours from JNVU, Jodhpur. During my college years, I was living at Pragya Niketan, a non-profit organization that provides accommodation and educational support to differently-abled students. The environment at Pragya Niketan was highly supportive, and the mentors there helped me not only continue my studies but also excel despite my physical limitations. It was at Pragya Niketan that I took my first step toward becoming a Chartered Accountant (CA). The Journey Toward CA and Career Break While studying B.Com, I also began preparing for the Chartered Accountancy (CA) exams, focusing on the CPT (Common Proficiency Test) and IPCC (Integrated Professional Competence Course). Despite the challenges of writing with my feet, I managed to clear both of these exams.
